Living my truth in Los Angeles, CA

My name is Tiffany and I am elated you have come to visit my page. It’s simple, but it’s me. At the ripe age of thirty, I have so many things I still want to do and see. I was born in the beautiful city of Los Angeles, but have grown up in “The Sunshine State” of Florida. Jacksonville is a great base and we are known as “The Bold New City” of the South. I have learned that, whether I like it or not, there will be no shortage of sunshine or boldness in my life! I am a not-even-close-to-recent college graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Biology, specifically with a concentration in Medical Laboratory Science. Oops, I hate it when I accidentally reveal my secret identity as a “mad scientist”. But it’s true! My life revolves around it daily.

But pish posh about jobs! Let’s get into the fun stuff, shall we?

Getting in touch with my Southern roots

Although the left is always hard at work, the right side of my brain is just as powerful. I am a serial doodler and, when I hear a beat I like, rhythm is known to take over my hips. To my personal circle, I am known to be a huge goof and sweetheart. To everyone else, I’m just the weirdo with the loud laugh and no shame. Either way, I am here to bring joy to the masses. My relationships are very important to me and I like to think people want to have me on their team (but…not like a sports team. ‘cuz I’m no Serena Williams).

Getting low in the Low Country of Charleston, SC

My greatest joys right now would be curated Spotify playlists, chasing around my Mini Aussie Mei, Bold Bean ice chai tea lattes in the AM and whiskey sours in the PM, forcing myself not to waste my HelloFresh subscription meals, Instagram notifications, random adventures in my own city, and thinking about how I am going to decorate my townhouse in the upcoming months (turns out that is a never-ending project). If that doesn’t sound like the single-lady life, I don’t know what does!

Watching the trains go by from a rooftop in Chicago, IL

I started this blog because I wanted to stay motivated with my newest (well, not new, but now “more obtainable”) goal: to travel as often as I can. I am a working professional, without the means (or the balls) to travel non-stop. So I make do with what I have: my independence, my confidence, my drive, and … a lot of saved up PTO. Although having been born on one end of the country and getting transferred to the total opposite side makes it seem like I have covered a lot of ground, it turns out there is a lot more out there I haven’t seen yet. It is my goal to experience as much as I am able!

Admiring the details of New Orleans architecture

There was a time where I sustained my wanderlust (and fed my creativity) by corresponding with pen pals. That’s right, I used to write letters. I am genuinely curious about other people’s lives! By utilizing the “antiquated” action of snail mail, I have made some great connections from all over the world. It started locally with places like California or Texas, but eventually grew into international countries like Japan, Germany, Australia, and Singapore. We had been writing for nearly 4 years, and although letters have ceased, we still keep in touch digitally over Instagram. I truly consider these women to be friends. I have actually met 3 of them in real life while on my journeys!

Renting a kimono in Kyoto, Japan

I am proud to say that I crossed one major location off of my bucket list. It was a year of planning for a 3-week trip, but dreams came to fruition when I finally made it to beautiful Japan in October of 2016. I think it is human nature to seek adventure. We innately have the desire for life-altering experiences. Well, this was mine. This trip is what I will look back on when I am old and grey and think, “Damn, I still can’t believe I did that.” Traveling solo to Japan will forever be the coolest thing I have ever done.

The world is my oyster in Williamsburg, NYC

My biggest hope is that my travels will serve as an inspiration for others. I always try to be a good example to my younger cousins especially. I want them to understand that there is so much importance in creating goals and working hard to make them happen. I want them to live a life they can be proud of and not let the opinions of others hold them back from pursuing something. Like things simply because you like them. I want them to be curious about the world and other cultures. I want them to stay humble about their accomplishments and privileges. I want them to meet fascinating new people who bring out the best in them.

I have discovered that you can learn so much about yourself when you make the effort to learn about others.

Living that hipster life in San Francisco, CA

With all that being said, I hope that you enjoy following me as I share my insights. I’m not trying to be some fancy blogger, I’m just trying to do me boo-boo.  I truly hope this brings something to the table. I am not that great of a cook, so that is all you’re getting anyways. 😉 (I make great puns).
